What I do:

I am in charge of youth and group ministries.

I get to spend my week praying, playing and guiding the many youth at Gloria Dei.  I love my job and I love the people I work with.  I am also taking classes at Trinity Lutheran Seminary, in hopes to receive my Masters of Arts in Lay Ministry (MALM), and I am currently in the candidacy process to become an Associate in Ministry.

Rebecca Brode Biography

I was born and raised in northern Indiana. I am the youngest of three siblings, and the proud Aunt of four nieces and nephews. I spent my summers going to camps, and fell in love with all things outdoors. I attended Capital University (Lutheran college), in Columbus, Ohio and graduated there with a degree in Communications. During my summers in college I worked at the Lutheran camps in Indiana. After graduation, I packed up my things and headed west. I worked as the Program Director for Outlaw Ranch (Lutheran Camp) in Custer, South Dakota.

I then ventured south, to Chattanooga, TN, where I have served as the Director of Family and Education Ministries at Trinity Lutheran Church for the past two years. This past summer the youth participated in two service mission trips. Some current activities are: youth community service one Saturday per month, Sr. High Bible Study on Wednesday evening, young adult Bible Study on Sundays, and religion/social issues dialogue on Tuesday nights for young adults. I have taught confirmation class both years. I have revolving hobbies, currently it is learning to play the guitar, hiking and coffee drinking!
